Our story started in 2019, when our Founder and Executive Director, Dr. Joseph (Joe) Okumu (PHD Philosophy University of Leuven, Belgium), with more than 20 years’ experience in research and evaluation in academia and international development was invited to evaluate the programs of one of the Nairobi based peace and security non-governmental organization. As he interacted with the leadership, employees, partners and other stakeholders of this firm, he noted a glaring gap – for so many years, the organization had been doing wonderful programs that have achieved so much, but they did not have a robust impact measurement system that connected their theory of change with programmatic actions, the right indicators, and the measurement strategy.

Working alongside this firm’s partners and stakeholders, Joe delivered a trusted evaluation system that produced the kind of rigorous, actionable insights the development sector was looking for—insights that helped leadership teams refine programs and gave funders confidence that their generosity was making a meaningful difference.
