OUR SERVICES

We provide a range of services that reflect our commitment to practical solutions, engaging the right expertise, and applying rigorous methodological approaches.

Logic Model refinement

Most organizations already have a logic model somewhere. The problem is usually that it was written for a proposal three years ago and no longer describes what the program actually does. We start by reading what you have, then get your program staff in a room and walk the model backward: what are you really delivering, who receives it, and what has to be true for the outcomes to follow. The people who run the program do most of the talking. We ask the awkward questions, tighten the logic, and leave you with a one-page model your field teams recognize as their own.a

Theory of Change Redesign

A theory of change is only useful if the people implementing it believe it. We facilitate the redesign as a working session, not a deliverable handed over at the end: program leads, field staff, and where possible participants themselves map the pathways, name the assumptions, and mark the places where the evidence is thin. Our job is to keep the conversation honest and to bring in what the literature and comparable programs already tell us. You end up with a theory of change that holds together logically, connects to your indicators, and can be defended in front of a board or a donor.

Impact Evaluations

When you need to know whether the change would have happened anyway, you need a credible counterfactual. We design and run rigorous impact evaluations, matching the method to the program and the budget rather than forcing every study into the same design. Randomized designs where they are feasible and ethical, quasi-experimental approaches such as matching, difference-in-differences, and regression discontinuity where they are not. We agree on the questions and the design with your team before any data moves, keep you close through analysis, and present results in language your program people and your donors can both act on.

Measurement Approach Development

Good measurement is built with the people who will have to live with it. We sit with your program and MEL staff to work out what genuinely needs tracking, then design the indicators, definitions, tools, and reporting rhythm around it. That includes the unglamorous parts: data flow maps, roles and responsibilities, quality checks, and a data collection platform on SurveyCTO, ODK, or KoboToolbox that your field officers can actually operate. We train your team as we build, so the system survives our departure and does not quietly collapse into a spreadsheet nobody updates.

Implementation Research

Knowing that a program worked matters less than knowing why, for whom, and under what conditions. Implementation research opens the black box: how the intervention is delivered in practice, where fidelity breaks down, what frontline staff work around, and what context is doing the heavy lifting. We design these studies with your implementation team because they already have the hypotheses, and we test them systematically. Findings come back fast enough to be useful mid-course, in short cycles you can act on, rather than in a report that lands after the decisions have been made.

Baseline and Endline Evaluations

A baseline is a promise you make to your future self, and it is easy to get wrong in ways that only surface years later. We design baselines that anticipate the endline: the same instruments, the same sampling logic, the same definitions, documented so that a different team could pick it up in five years. Your staff help set the comparison groups and sample frame, since they know where the program will actually reach. At endline we bring both rounds together, run the analysis, and hold a session with your team to interpret the numbers before anything is finalized. You should never be surprised by your own evaluation.
